Hello Austin:

If your sub-floor is made from wood, just use hardy-backer screws 1 5/8" long and screw the board directly into the sub wooden floor. Do not pre-drill, you want the screws tight into the board and into the wood. I use 24 screws per board, I hope this info help you.

I am getting ready to put hardy backer board down on the floor in my bathroom but I am not sure if i need to pre drill the holes or not. I just do not want the back of the board to blow out once I drill them. I could really use some advise.
